Decorating Dilemna

This is our current "dining area." Our living/dining room is very long and narrow, with that ledge going around the whole room. At one end of the room due to the boiler closet, the room is much narrower, creating the little "nook" you see above. It's really too narrow to do much with, and is very cramped when four people sit down to eat.

Right now on the opposite side of the room, we have our two couches up against the walls across from each other, and the TV set up at the end of the room.

To maximize space, we are thinking of ditching one couch and re-arranging the room to make three "zones" - for TV, dining table, and a bar section. The bar will go in the space pictured above.

I'm still debating how to set up this area - a vintage bar cart? Wooden wine bar with storage? Build our own?

Today we decided on a caterer and chose our Save The Date's! It feels good to get things crossed off the list. Every little bit done makes me feel so much better.

A few fun things I picked up this week:

Black & orange paper straws from Isakay Boutique. So cute, and even though they are paper straws they hold up well. Came with a download for customizable flags. Want the rainbow pack!

Agate Druzy ring from Ebay seller DDMShopping. Liking the druzy trend but not at some of the prices! Look at you Urban Outfitters.

Halloween bottle printables from MagicPup. Bought these before I saw the free printables on MarthaStewart.com, these are much better though.

Winter tree decal from WowWall. So I can re-creat something like this:

The Sweet Things in Life

Two more sweet treats made for Baby V's shower!

Cake Batter Blondies (Recipe via Two Twenty One)

-One box yellow cake mix

-1/4 cup vegetable oil

-1 egg

-1/2 cup milk

-3/4 cup white chocolate chips

-Sprinkle

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Combine cake mix, oil, and egg.

3. Slowly add milk to bowl.  The batter should be dense.

4. Mix in white chocolate chips.

5.  Pour mixture into a greased pan.

6. Bake for 30 minutes / until edges begin to turn golden brown.

White Wine "Sangria"

To make this white wine "sangria", I used three bottles of wine, 1 2 liter bottle of Fresca, and apples and strawberries as the garnish.
